Awards

The Second BJ-HK International Doctoral Forum 2007 will present 4 Best Paper Awards. The Best Paper Award honors the author(s) of a paper of exceptional merit. The cretiria is based on the quality of the paper and the presentation at the Forum.

Candidates

The first author, of an accepted paper, who must register and present his/her paper in the Second Beijing-Hong Kong International Doctoral Forum 2007 is eligible for the award.

Procedure

  1. The Program Committee will nominate a few candidate papers from each track according to the paper quality.
  2. Award decision will be made by the Awards Committee after the nomination’s presentation at the Forum.
  3. Awards and prizes will be presented at the banquet.

Travel Grants

We have limited travel grants supported by the Croucher Foundation. First student author of an accepted paper can apply for the the travel grant. The grant will be given ONLY at the Forum site to the designated student after the presentation. The maximum possible amount for each travel grant will not exceed HKD $8,000. Preferences will be given to Ph.D. candidaes coming from France.

Students who are interested should send an email to phdforum@se.cuhk.edu.hk with subject “Apply for travel grants” with the following information:

  1. Contact information of applicant, e.g., name, title, and email address, etc.
  2. The title of the accepted paper
  3. The affiliation
  4. Form of presentation of the paper
  5. Paper’s major area
  6. Place that the student traveling from
  7. A copy of valid current student ID card (scanned version is o.k.)
  8. A letter from the supervisor indicating the student’s status (scanned version is o.k.)
  9. Estimated traveling expenses from the institution’s city to Hong Kong

The deadline for submitting both student applications and advisor recommendations is June 10, 2007. The notification will be out by June 17, 2007.
